ABOUT US

The Royal Oak has been part of Marylebone since 1807 — a proper pub at the heart of the neighbourhood. You’ll find us on York Street, a short walk from Marylebone Station, directly opposite Old Marylebone Town Hall, in one of the last neighbourhoods in London that still feels like a village.

We’re a free-of-tie pub, which means we choose everything ourselves — every beer on the bar, every bottle on the wine list, every supplier in the kitchen. No brewery telling us what to stock, no list handed down from head office. Just decisions made because we think something is genuinely good.

Whether you’re a local who’s been coming for years or you’re walking through the door for the first time — at The Royal Oak, everyone’s a regular.

OUR Offer

Our kitchen runs a seasonal menu that changes with what’s best at market, alongside a wine list chosen with the same care, and draught beers we actually want to drink.

Sundays are taken seriously here. Our roasts are built around meat from HG Walter — one of London’s finest butchers — with native-breed Hereford beef dry-aged for tenderness and depth, Cornish lamb from Launceston, and free-range chicken from small British farms. Our bread comes from Paul Rhodes Bakery in Greenwich, founded by a former three-Michelin-star chef whom Pierre Koffmann once suggested should become a baker. It shows.

Throughout the year, we host a rotating roster of supper clubs and wine tastings: seafood evenings with Wright Brothers, wine tasting nights with our own sommelier, and a growing calendar of events worth putting in the diary.

WHERE TO FIND US

A Marylebone pub since 1807

You’ll find us in the heart of Marylebone in Central London. One of the last remaining villages of the city, we’re within walking distance of Marylebone Station and Baker Street and serviced by various bus routes.

Pull up a stool, stay a while. We’re here for the pint that turns into two, the Sunday roast worth the journey, and every occasion in between.
