Starting Monday 9th February, each week at The Royal Oak, one main dish will become The Weekday Special – a rotating lunchtime plate that’s both generous and delicious.
Available Monday to Friday, 12–4pm, The Weekday Special will be offered for just £15, making it an easy choice for a proper weekday lunch. The dish changes regularly, led by the seasons and what the kitchen is keen to cook that week.
Outside of lunchtime, the same dish is available later in the day at the evening price, alongside our full à la carte menu.

Wine Wednesdays
Starting 11th February, every Wednesday at The Royal Oak, our 1st floor dining room will open for guests who’d like to bring their own wine and enjoy our menu with £10 corkage per bottle.
Whether it’s a special bottle you’ve been saving or a dependable midweek favourite, this is your excuse to open it over dinner with friends, without doing any of the cooking.

- £10 per 750 ml bottle / £20 per magnum.
- At least one main dish must be ordered per guest.
- 8 people max. per booking.
- Not available on evenings when the room is booked for a private event.

Ray Richardson: Film Screening & Artist Talk
Join us upstairs at The Royal Oak for an intimate evening with artist Ray Richardson, featuring a special film screening followed by a short talk.
The evening will include a showing of a BBC2 and Arts Council film directed by Ian Duncan, documenting Richardson’s process as he develops one of his paintings from start to finish. Ian Duncan will also be present to say a few words.
This is a rare opportunity to gain insight into Richardson’s work and creative approach in an informal setting.
