The Royal Oak × HG Walter: A Celebration of British Meat

The Royal Oak × HG Walter: A Celebration of British Meat

✻

Join us at The Royal Oak for a special evening celebrating the best of British meat, in collaboration with HG Walter.

HG Walter has been sourcing and butchering meat from their Barons Court shop in Hammersmith since 1972 — an independent, family-run business built on relationships with small, native-breed farms across the country. For this one-off supper, we’ll be showcasing some of that produce through a seasonal four-course menu from our kitchen.

A member of the HG Walter team will join us on the night to talk through the sourcing behind the menu — from native-breed farms to the dry-ageing room — offering a look at the journey from farm to fork.

Our sommelier, Emma Robinson, has selected a range of wines to complement the menu. Guests can enjoy a full wine pairing with a different wine for each course, or choose wines individually on the night.

The menu

Snack: Braised Suffolk Texel lamb doughnut, black garlic ketchup
Paired wine: Trebium Spoleto Trebbiano Spoletino, Antonelli San Marco, 2024

Spanish Wine Tasting

Spanish Wine Tasting

✻

Spain makes some of the most characterful wine in the world — and this is your chance to taste your way across it in one evening.

Joined by our sommelier Emma Robinson, you’ll explore six wines from six very different corners of the country — from the volcanic soils of Tenerife to the sun-baked plains of Castilla, via the limestone hills of Rueda, the cellars of Rioja, and the ancient soleras of Jerez:

2022 Expression Brut Cava Reserva, Dominio de la Vega, Utiel-Requena
2023 Listán Blanco, Ocampo, Tenerife
2022 Ossian Organic Verdejo, Alma Carrovejas, Rueda
2024 ‘Fundamentalista’, Finca Sandoval, Castilla-La Mancha
2017 Rioja Gran Reserva, Sierra Cantabria, Rioja
Pedro Ximénez, Diatomists, Jerez

To accompany the wines, our kitchen will be serving:

Salt cod croquetas with the whites
Pork belly skewer and carne en salsa with the reds

Relaxed, informal and designed to be enjoyed whether you know Spanish wine well or are just beginning to explore it.

Ray Richardson Exhibition: London Distilled II

Ray Richardson Exhibition: London Distilled II

✻

We’re delighted to welcome artist Ray Richardson back upstairs at The Royal Oak with London Distilled II – a new body of work following the original London Distilled installation here in 2023.

This latest instalment sees Ray return with a fresh collection of original oil paintings, alongside a series of lighter, uplifting acrylic works on canvas – small gems that bring a different rhythm and energy to the show. Expect Ray’s familiar panoramic compositions, joined this time by vertically stretched works that hint at cinematic influence, with narratives shaped as much by the viewer as by the titles themselves.

Ray has previously been dubbed “the Martin Scorsese of painting”, and while the references may be cinematic, the atmosphere is anything but intimidating. This is a show for everyone: approachable, engaging, and best enjoyed with a drink in hand in a great pub.

Open to all | Private Dining Room | FREE ENTRY

The exhibition is ongoing however will not be available to view when there is a private function on.
